This doesn’t mean there isn’t a space for ads anymore, it just means that an increased focus needs to be placed on regular, engaging and relevant content.

Raise your hand if you received a Google Home for Christmas. We’re sure there’s a few of you out there … well actually, according to Business Insider Australia, Amazon had a record number of smart home devices sold during the Christmas period, and Google Home grew to become the 6th most popular app on the Apple App and Google Play stores, suggesting many Aussies received a Google Home from Santa too. It was estimated that people would use voice-enabled devices to complete at least 30% of all searches without using a screen by 2020. What does this mean for businesses?
