Turning spuds into gold.
Golden Fries knew their stuff within the B2B space (cafes, restaurants and venues), but when presented an opportunity to sell directly to consumers in Coles, they needed a fresh look. They wanted something that was going to grab shoppers’ attention, plus show what Golden Fries stands for and tell their story. So, they asked PIER to design some eye-catching packaging.
Golden Fries is not your regular frozen chip: these chips are naturally gluten free, vegan friendly, Kosher and Halal certified and made in Victoria from 100% Australian products. In a saturated (ahem) section of the frozen food aisle, we had to make sure Golden Fries would stand out amongst other competitor products. With three chips in the range – crinkle cut, shoestring and straight cut – we highlighted the impressive and unique product features by utilising recognisable packaging icons, then applied different colours to represent the various styles of chip.
What we did
Golden Fries landed the gig with Coles, successfully adding a B2C revenue stream to their business. They’re now also stocked nationally in Ritchies and available in most IGA and Foodworks stores across Victoria and New South Wales.
