B2B marketing agency for technical businesses

PIER is a B2B marketing agency for Australian manufacturers, engineering and technical professional services firms, civil contractors and commercial builders. We have been trading since 2014 from Mornington, Victoria, and we work with businesses whose buyers are technical, careful and usually several people deep. We set the strategy, then our team delivers it: positioning, websites, content, campaigns and sales material.

Who we work with

Manufacturers

Manufacturers selling to distributors, OEMs and specifiers. We launched the Avenger work boot for Bata Industrials and repositioned Dimac, a CNC workholding specialist with more than three decades in the Australian and New Zealand market.

Marketing for manufacturers

Civil contractors and commercial builders

Businesses that win work through tenders, relationships and reputation. We built the marketing strategy and sales collateral for Hiway, whose operations span roads, rail, airports, ports and mining, and a capability statement for commercial fit-out firm Baxter Projects.

Construction marketing

Engineering and technical professional services

Firms selling expertise to buyers who check every claim. Our work for Progility Technologies, InSight Systems and Caseware started with research into how their clients search, compare and decide.

Selling to technical buyers?

Let's talk

How B2B marketing works with PIER

Most B2B purchases are decided by a group. Gartner's 2025 sales research found buying groups of five to 16 people across as many as four functions. Our work is built to reach that whole group, from the engineer who specifies to the director who signs.

Strategy first

Every engagement starts with an audit and a strategy that sets the audience, the positioning and the priorities. Activity follows the plan, so you can see what each piece of work is meant to achieve.

One team delivers it

Strategists, designers, web developers, digital specialists and copywriters work in one team. You deal with one account team, and the work stays consistent from the website to the trade show stand.

Measured against the business

We report on enquiries and pipeline first, with traffic and rankings as supporting detail. If something isn't working, we tell you and change it.

Frequently asked questions

Find answers to the top questions we hear most often.

What does a B2B marketing agency do?

A B2B marketing agency helps businesses that sell to other businesses reach and persuade their buyers. The work covers strategy, positioning, websites, content, advertising, sales collateral and account-based marketing. For technical businesses, it has to stand up to scrutiny from engineers, procurement teams and directors, so accuracy matters as much as creativity.

How is B2B marketing different from B2C marketing?

B2B purchases usually involve more people, more money and more checking. Gartner's 2025 sales research found B2B buying groups of five to 16 people across as many as four functions. Marketing has to give each of them a reason to say yes, from technical detail for the specifier to commercial value for the person signing off.

Which industries does PIER specialise in?

We work mostly with Australian manufacturers, engineering and technical professional services firms, civil contractors and commercial builders. Clients include Bata Industrials, Dimac, Lotus Doors, Hiway, Baxter Projects, Progility Technologies and InSight Systems.

Where is PIER based?

Our office is at 3/2a Carbine Way, Mornington, on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula. We have been trading since 2014 and work with clients across Melbourne, Australia and New Zealand.

How do you measure B2B marketing results?

We agree the commercial measures at the start, usually qualified enquiries and pipeline. Rankings, traffic and engagement are tracked as supporting detail. For the Bata Industrials Avenger launch, 35 distributors ordered stock within the first month and website sessions rose 48 per cent in the first three months.

Do you replace our internal marketing team?

Usually we work alongside an internal marketer, adding the strategy and specialist skills one person can't cover alone. Where there's no internal team, we can run the whole marketing function.
